Trend Downloader & data updating

The purpose of Trend Downloader is to update the data in the software & thereby update the charts of Trend.

Q.1 How do I connect to Trend Downloader?

Ans:

Click on the icon ‘Shortcut to trenddownloader’

In the Trend User Identification window click on

Make sure that your Internet connection is ON.

Incase you get an error message as shown below

Check your Internet connection & reset it if the problem still occurs.

Now click on present in the Trend User Identification window

Choose any one of the servers & click on in the TrendQry Connection window.

As soon as you are connected this window will close automatically.

Q.2 How do I download files from Trend Downloader?

Ans:

Once you are connected to the Trend Downloader, Download Files window will appear.

This window will contain all the files that you have to download.

Click on . This will download all the files.

As the files go on downloading the tick mark in front of the files will be removed.

After downloading the files from Trend Downloader you need to update them.

For this you will have to open ‘Shortcut to DT’, a list of files will be displayed in red colour.

Press escape key from the keyboard to start updating the files.

While this process is ON do not minimize the application.

Q.3 Why should I download the files daily?

Ans:

Downloading the files will update the daily data in your charts.

If you wouldn’t update the data for any specific day, the chart would show a gap in place of the bar for that day.

This will also affect the values of any study that is added on your chart.
